EFFECT OF DRAW
Although the draw has little effect on the outcome of races on the oval course, low numbers are often preferred
On the straight course, which stages five and six-furlong races, horses drawn low are favoured when the stalls are positioned on the far side of the track
If they are on the opposite rail, horses drawn high are deemed to hold an advantage.
