Reg Day 1000 guineas winners
Reginald Day (1883-1972) was the son of Fred W. Day.
Reg Day started training for Lord D′Abernon when only seventeen years of age (trainers licences were not required in those days).

Reg Day also trained Pistol to win the Northern Derby at Newcastle. Pistol had been second in the 1902 2000 Guineas to Sceptre.
Reg Day had rode over fences at the last steeplechase meeting held at Newmarket on 28 December 1905 - the site of the Newmarket Steeplechases is still used for training the Newmarket jumpers and runs around the outside of the The Links Golf Club.
