Steve Cauthen drew a complete blank in the Breeders Cup. From just eight Breeders Cup rides 1985-1991 the nearest he came to a winner was a second place on the Australian horse Strawberry Road who was beaten a neck by Pat Eddery and Pebbles in the 1985 Turf Classic at Aqueduct.
