Peleid

Peleid was an ordinary sort of two year old winning a modest race at York

As a three year old he won a handicap at Liverpool in March and in May won the ten furlong Zetland Gold Cup at Redcar.

At Royal Ascot Peleid was second in the King Geoege V Stakes

In July, showing further steady improvement he won the ten and a half furlong John Smith's Magnet Cup at York.

Then he was runner-up in the Prix de la Ville de Trouville at Deauville and then back at York was fourth in the Johnnie Walker Ebor Handicap carrying 8 stone 2 lb.

His final race as a three year old was in the Doncaster St Leger ridden by Frankie Durr and starting at 28/1 won by two and a half lengths.

In 1974 as a four year old he failed to win in Britain and was exported to Hungary winning the one and a half mile Great Breeders Prize and was then retired to stud in that country.
