Hyperion trained by the Hon. George Lambton and owned by the 17th Earl of Derby won the 1933 Epsom Derby and the 1933 Doncaster St. Leger ridden by Tommy Weston

When he retired from racing he became a prolific sire
He was Champion sire six times, siring six classic winners amongst the winners of 752 races worth £633,000 in the British Isles
His greatest influence was as a sire of broodmares which included Aurora (the dam of Alycidon), Calash (the dam of Carrozza), Hydroplane (the dam of Citation), Lightning (the dam of Parthia), Libra (the dam of Ribocco and also the dam of Ribero)
