First British Club to win major European Trophy

Tottenham Hotspur won the 1963 European Cup Winners Cup when they beat Atletico Madrid 5-1 in Rotterdam to become the first British Club to win a major European Trophy.

Jimmy Greaves scored twice, Terry Dyson scored twice and John White scored once for Spurs.

Collar scored a penalty for Atletico Madrid.
