The very first player to score a hat trick in the English Premier League was the Frenchman Eric Cantona for Leeds United at Elland Road on 25th August 1992 when they beat Tottenham Hotspur 5-0.

This also made Cantona the first foreign player to score a hat-trick in the Premier League.
